Virtual Museum Programs
A museum educator will read a themed story that will introduce children to local history in a fun and engaging way followed by an activity based on the story! For more information and to register, select the events below:

Museum passes with free admission for four!
In partnership with the History Center Affiliates Program, we are offering FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to a number of museums and historical sites around Pittsburgh! The kits circulate for one week at a time and cannot be renewed or reserved. For more information, call the Reference Desk at 412-531-1912, Option 3.
The kits will be available on June 1st.
Our 2022 Experience Kit season includes admission to:
- Heinz History Center (includes complimentary admission to Fort Pitt Museum and Meadowcroft!)
- Old Economy Village
- Duncan & Miller Glass Museum
- Merrick Art Gallery
- Somerset Historical Center
- West Overton Village & Museum
- Historic Fort Steuben
*Pass can be used in lieu of suggested donation (although donations always welcome!)
Using your library's Experience Kit program, visit THREE different museum sites before October 31, 2022, and be entered to win a prize basket!

Plus: before you go, explore the museum’s “virtual experience kit!” Discover what you might see during your visit, learn more about the history of the site, and find other fun things to do in the area while you’re there.
