Renew That Chair
Wooden Chair CHAIRity Project at Mt. Lebanon Public Library
Decorated Chairs for Sale on April 19, 2013
In October 2012 the library received new seating, made possible through generous donations for that purpose. The old and worn-beyond-repair upholstered seating from 1997 was donated to charity. Over 125 wooden chairs remain in the library at present, but we have big plans to give them a new life and to raise funds for the library at the same time.
Creative members of the public are invited to take a chair (or two) home to refurbish and return to the library in April as part of Mt. Lebanon Public Library’s CHAIRity event.
- Chairs can be taken from the library refurbishment immediately after logging them out at the Circulation Desk.
- Chairs may be decorated in any way with any theme* (painted, stenciled, covered in decoupage, etc).
- Renewed chairs need to be returned to the library a few days before the CHAIRity event on Friday, April 19.
- Artists set their own prices on the chairs they’ve decorated. Chairs are offered for sale starting Friday, 4/19/2013 at a special after-hours event.
- All proceeds from the sale of the RENEWED CHAIRS benefit Mt. Lebanon Public Library.
